I feel that it is time to let the AutoHotkey community know some things about Polyethene as well as the state of the forum as he has not done so himself.
First though, a little bit about me. Under poly, I was an admin for a period of time, where I was instructed to (at the time of my actual promotion) take care of spam and help the mods with the forum since it was relatively new to most of them.
Poly owns a company named Dequeue LTD (Formerly known as J.P. Holdings) Dequeue trades as powerbot.
Poly is known on powerbot.org as Paris, or more currently Voltaire; who is the 'boss' so to speak.
Some backstory.
I was asked by poly to be his PA (Personal Assistant) which included "Restarting my autohotkey project," but mostly focused on taming the community of powerbot.
A little later, I was told that I would be 'pretty much moderation and maintaining the community" for autohotkey.
It took a while for him to actually promote me.
I was contracted by J.P. Holdings, and had done work (which later included here) and had been paid a salary.
To explain powerbot, it is simply an automation tool written in Java that allows people to 'bot' on an online game called RuneScape.
The powerbot community is filled with people who act as they are age 12 and are not able to handle any maturity given to them. Along with that, the community on powerbot is more lively (as people here on AHK are a lot more mature and respectful.)
During my time as admin on powerbot, I would consistently give out numerous of bans as well as hundreds of warnings (known as infractions) on any given week.
From my time here as admin (from my promotion to the time I was demoted,) I remember is issuing 0 legitimate bans, and 0 legitimate warnings (except for spam bots, but those are in a different category as they aren't people.)
As for why Poly has seemingly dropped AHK, I don't know, but what I can speculate on is that it is not making him money, and so he feels as he has no obligation to uphold anything.
A little about why I was demoted from here and powerbot:
I had given my personal Facebook to Poly in the interest of business (as he stated that it is a quicker way of notifying him of something.) All was fine for a period of time; until he got drunk.
He got drunk and went onto a video chatroom where he not only distributed my picture, but my full name (which from prior life events,) I did not feel comfortable with being public on the internet.
Due to the maturity of powerbot members, they started harassing me. Poly had acknowledged that he had done wrong by distributing my information, and said that he would take care of it.
As time went on, he took his side, that he did nothing wrong.
As of the distribution of my image on powerbot, I took actions which were stated in the rules; labeled as "leaking personal information."
One of the many actions I took was banning a member based on that rule who had done exactly that; distributed my image. This member was a 'friend' of poly, who had reversed the ban.
All in all, poly defended his own actions which he knew were against the rules in favor of his 'friends.' (Friends is in quotes because later on after this all happened, the friends took advantage of poly for their own gain of Mod rank.)
I sent an email to him as well as the rest of the administration voicing my frustrations at his actions, pointing out the rules and his own reversals, where he did not follow his own rules. I said this in the email, "
I request that either the users who were involved with the leakings be permanently banned from the site (as per the current rules,) the rules change to reflect the actions taken here (no permanent ban, and no infraction since no time was dealt,) or resigning myself."
About 25 hours after sending that email, poly had 'fired' me. (Fired as there was no more discussion after that relating.) Again, he believed what he did was right.
Once I was 'fired' the demotion from here would be part of it; hence why I am not in a green color here anymore.
Another bit on that was that I was entitled to a payment that is equal to the amount that I had worked in the payment cycle. To that, poly had this to say,
"We have met our contractual obligations and will not pay you any more than you have already earned."
As per law, I am required to get a final pay. To get that final pay, I had to threaten to talk to a lawyer about this issue. I was paid my final pay 3 months after the fact (however a few days after I threatened the legal bit.)
AutoHotkey.com is hosted on the same server as powerbot.org.
powerbot.org has an exponential amount of trafficc compared to autohotkey; which is why at times, AHK will be slow or there are forum issues.
As far as what poly does for autohotkey anymore (as far as I can tell anymore) is that he just pays for the server and the forum license. (autohotkey.net is not included as that is not .com which was by chris.)
As a note, I have yet to get a reply to the most recent email that I sent to polys personal email regarding AHK and the odd CSS issues (sent 9.19.2013.)
I feel as I need to post this as Poly has not done so himself and it does not seem like he ever will; let alone acknowledge any issues that appear on autohotkey.
If Chris or Poly read this, I would highly suggest that you give someone else server level access, as poly is in no shape to run autohotkey reliably.
